Patient X Case Study on Quick Straight Teeth

The Beginning

Patient X was unhappy with the overall look of her teeth after having traditional braces throughout her teens and then moving to use a removable retainer at night. As time went on, patient X stopped wearing her retainer, her teeth began to move, and she became unhappy with the overall look of her smile, in particular her top front few teeth. In her mid-twenties, patient X decided to approach Dr. Akash Tamber for a cosmetic consultation and Quick Straight Teeth was recommended.

The Assessment

Patient X attended a free cosmetic consultation with Dr. Akash Tamber to discuss what she liked/ disliked about her smile. Together they discussed the different options available and why Quick Straight Teeth was the best option for her. This includes:

  • A short-term orthodontic solution that delivers long term results
  • Removable clear aligners provide a discreet way to straighten her teeth
  • Teeth whitening following the aligners
  • Composite bonding following the aligners and teeth whitening
  • A fixed bonded retainer is the final step that eliminates the problem patient X previously experienced wearing a removable retainer

The Plan

Dr. Akash Tamber assessed the oral health of patient X and took pictures of her teeth to share with Quick Straight Teeth for approval. Following this, patient X had impressions taken of her teeth which were then sent to the lab and a scale and polish to ensure optimum oral health before treatment. This resulted in 8 aligners for her upper teeth and 10 aligners for her lower teeth which were to be changed every 2 weeks.

These were delivered to EnVisage Kilmacolm with the first aligner fitted by Dr. Akash Tamber. Following this, the patient revisited the practice 2 weeks later to review how this was going with further treatment taking place to create small gaps between a few teeth to allow further movement. After this, patient X took the remaining aligners home with a follow-up appointment booked to review progress a few weeks later. Over the course of the 20 weeks of aligners, Patient X’s teeth moved more and more in line as she noticed visible changes in her smile.

When patient X finished with her aligner’s impressions were taken for her teeth whitening trays which were created that same week. She visited our Kilmacolm practice and was fitted with her whitening trays and introduced to the whitening process. Patient X whitened her teeth until they were at the desired shade of white when she was then ready for composite bonding treatment.

Patient X visited our practice and spoke to Dr. Akash Tamber about the teeth she wanted to be bonded – this included her upper front teeth to lengthen them to the same as her other teeth.

Finally, Patient X visited our practice to have a fixed bonded retainer fitted with a thin wire behind her teeth to stop them from moving.

The Outcome

Patient X is delighted with her smile and treatment results. Her teeth are now aligned, more symmetrical, brighter, and whiter.

The Patient Feedback

I’m so happy with my Quick Straight Teeth results. Not wearing my retainer as I got older was one of my biggest regrets and QST has helped to restore my smile. Getting braces as an adult was something I had considered for a few years and now my only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner.

"The whole process of changing the aligners at home was perfect with a busy schedule, with the comfort of knowing the dental team was there if I had any problems. As the weeks went on I started to notice my results and I couldn’t wait for the end result.

"I’m over the moon with how everything came together from my aligners to teeth whitening, composite bonding, and my fixed retainer.
